Hawaiian Alaea Salt
Alaea Salt

Alaea Salt is sea salt with the Red "Alaea" Clay from the island of Kauai.  The salt can be expensive, and hard to find on the mainland.

Customarily, Alaea sea salt was used by Hawaiians to cleanse, purify and bless tools, canoes, homes and temples. Alaea is also used in several traditional Hawaiian dishes such as Kalua Pig, Hawaiian Jerky and Poke.

The salt gets its pinkish-brown color from Hawaiian clay, called 'alaea, which is composed of over 80 separate minerals and rich in
iron oxide.

Grandfather's Alaea Salt comes from the traditional Alaea Clay from the island of Kauai. To purchase go to our secure online website at or click on the Online Store link on the left handside of the screen. Mahalo!
